  6. This program makes it fun and easy to find interesting anagrams.
  7. If you've tried Ars Magna or Karma Manager then we think you'll find our
  8. program a pleasant alternative.  It's faster, has a lot more features, and
  9. has a much nicer user interface.  See "About Anagrams" for the details.

  51. - Anagrams is now a "fat" application that runs in native mode on
  52.    both 680x0 and PowerPC Macs.  Finding anagrams on a Power Mac
  53.    is about 6 times faster.
  54.  
  55. - The new Tree menu provides a mechanism for building a tree of
  56.    selected usable words.  All paths in the tree are valid prefixes for
  57.    potential anagrams.  This makes it easier to systematically explore a
  58.    set of interesting sub-phrases for lengthy texts.  See "The Tree Menu"
  59.    topic in About Anagrams for more details.

  61. - All user preferences are now saved in a file called "Anagrams Prefs"
  62.    rather than in the application.  This means you won't have to restore
  63.    your settings (like the hot text list) when a new version is released.
  64.    Anagrams creates the preferences file in the Preferences sub-folder
  65.    in System 7 and later, or in the System folder under earlier Systems.
  66.    If you like, you can move the preferences file to the same folder as
  67.    the application.  This can make it easier to do backups.

  69. - The Save Settings item has been removed.  All user preferences are
  70.    automatically saved when you quit the program.

  72. - The sub-menus in the File menu have been replaced by toggle items.
  73.    A new toggle item allows usable words to be sorted alphabetically.
  74.    This makes it easier to locate known words.
  75.  
  76. - After you select Enter Hot Text the program automatically finds a
  77.    new set of usable words.

  79. - Fixed a bug in the progress bar.

  81. - Added support for required Apple events under System 7 and later.

  83. - If a lengthy task finishes in the background then the small Anagrams
  84.    icon will flash in the menu bar and a diamond mark will appear next
  85.    to Anagrams in the Application menu.

  90. - If more than one usable word is selected, "Find Anagrams" will only
  91.    generate anagrams containing ALL the selected words.  This makes
  92.    it much easier to find interesting anagrams for lengthy phrases.
  93.    The program will beep if you attempt to find anagrams with an
  94.    impossible combination of words.

  96. - Stack space is at least 16K to avoid a crash on an SE/30.

  98. - Fixed an incompatibility problem with After Dark 3.0.

  100. - Fixed a bug in the Edit dictionary dialog that allowed "words" with
  101.    characters other than A to Z to be stored in the dictionary.
